Special offerings:
The Brentano Quartet has commissioned three new quintets, which will be available in 2013/14:
- Piano quintet by Vijay Iyer (who will also play piano)
- “Of Color Braided All Desire” (2011) for soprano and string quartet by Eric Moe. Based on poems by May Swenson. Christine Brandes, soprano.
- Viola Quintet by Felipe Lara. With Hsin-Yun Huang, viola.
- Also: Mozart string quintet in g-minor, K 515 (Hsin-Yun Huang, viola)
Instead of a traditional program of 3-4 multi-movement pieces (from the above list), the Brentano Quartet is offering the option of a standard (1-2 work) first half, plus a second half as follows:
